Your Diamond studs, diamond earrings, rings, pendants, bracelets, and any other diamond jewelry you have needs to be both cleaned and cared for on a regular basis.  Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and so you should treat them like you would a best friend.

Here are some tips for caring for your diamond studs and other diamond jewelry.

  1. Soap and water is the best way to clean diamonds.  Take a small bowl and fill with tepid water, and a little bit of liquid dish soap.  Dip your diamonds into the solution and then use an old soft toothbrush to gently scrub.  Soak in the mixture and then scrub again.  Rinse, pad dry, and polish.
  2. There are many commercial jewelry cleaners on the market that you can use to clean your diamond studs and other diamond jewelry.  You just dip your jewelry into the container and use the brush that comes with it to scrub the surface.
  3. Ammonia should be used only in a well ventilated room.  Mix 1 part ammonia with 8 parts water and then place in a bowl.  Follow the same steps as you did for soap and water.
  4. Most jewelry stores offer a free service to clean diamond jewelry.  If you did not buy it there they may charge you a minimal fee but the ultra sonic equipment they use does a great job so it is worth it.
  5. If your diamond studs are really dirty you can leave them soak for 30 to 45 minutes. Then scrub them gently with a soft brush so you do not scratch the metal.
  6. Every year you should take your diamond studs and other diamond jewelry in to be examined for worn claws or loose stones.
  7. Although buying your diamonds is not part of caring you should remember that thanks to online shopping sites like DIAMOND STUDS OF AMERICA are able to sell you diamond studs for a fraction of the cost of just a few years ago.  Now you can afford to have more than one pair.

Diamonds remain beautiful year in and year out, they remain fashionable throughout the decades, and they remain affordable thanks to the internet.  Now you can afford to own more than one pair of diamond studs.  So what are you waiting for?
